John Perretta

Obituary of John H. Perretta

If you're reading this, I must be dead and gone, no big deal it was meant to happen.

I was born January 5th,1951, in Hartford, Connecticut to Dorothy Hartnett Perretta and Michael Perretta. I leave my daughter Evangeline Perretta, her significant other David Crosby and my grandson David Crosby Jr., as well my dog Sammy and cat Kitty kat. I also leave my sister Justine Bettera, her husband Angelo Bettera, my nephews Michael Bettera, Chris Bettera, Mark Bettera, my best friend Nadiya Perretta and last but not least my utter contempt and hatred for the state of Connecticut family court system, they deserve it, I did two divorces and a child custody case in this state.

To describe my life in one sentence, "I started out all wrong but ended up alright.”

Next, moving along to what I did in my seventy some odd years on the planet. The first few years I ate and slept, then I went to school for many years, later worked at my father’s restaurant, the Hearthstone, which was one of the best restaurants according to its many customers, they just don't have restaurants like that no more, went to Parsons College as well as The Culinary Institute of America, worked in the food service industry for many years and worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in various positions. While there, I belonged to the International National Association of Machinists Union and served many years as a Health and Safety representative for the union. My hobbies were my record, cd collection it was kind of large as well as many films and books. Overall, I had an interesting life, I went from a spoiled little rich punk to being broke and five steps from the sidewalk, then worked my way back up in doing what an individual can see and feel, many sides of life not readily available to the average person.

Moving on to selected accomplishments, I raised my daughter. I think she ended up happy, I was a loyal Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan since 1978, I was a lifelong New York Yankee fan and I made it to Woodstock, never really returned.

In the end, I had a great life with my family, doing all the simple everyday things families do together. I loved and will miss them wherever I go be it Heaven, Hell or somewhere in between.

Just one more thing, if there is no service or funeral that's my call, my ashes as well as the ashes of the dogs I once had will be placed somewhere and I'll fund a last beer call somewhere. It's not much but that's all there is. I forgot, I don't want you to get off cheap, in lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Connecticut Humane Society or Saint Jude's Hospital. Thanks, John
