Obituary of Ruth Squadrito

Ruth K. Squadrito, aged 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, beloved wife of the late Victor (Vic) Squadrito, died after a brief illness on May 7th, 2023.

Ruth was born on April 29, 1934, in Hartford, Connecticut, daughter of the late Clifford and Mary (Hull) Klaus. Ruth was raised in East Hartford and graduated from East Hartford High School in 1952. She attended the University of Connecticut - Storrs for two years. She then married the late Charles William (Bill) Neumann Jr. She worked for many years at First Hartford Corporation in Manchester. Ruth was married to Vic Squadrito for 32 years. They volunteered at Food Share, Meals on Wheels, and ran the Sealed Ticket booth at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church Fair for many years. Ruth taught Religious Education at St. Bridget’s for 10 years, volunteered at Manchester Memorial Hospital, and sewed for the Haiti group at St. Bridget's. She also loved working at Edmondson's in Coventry on the hayrides, as Mrs. Pumpkin. She enjoyed bowling, golf, playing Bunco, Dominos, and The First Friday Group. In 2016, she moved to Ft. Wayne, IN to be closer to family.

Ruth is survived by her 3 children, Tom (Lori) Neumann of Ft. Wayne, IN, Tim (Kit) Neumann of Kennebunk, ME, and Sally (Matt) Wade of Jericho, VT; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Other survivors include 4 stepchildren: Tom (Denise) Squadrito of Ellington, CT, Vicky (John) LeTellier, of Flagler Beach, FL, Barbara (Winston) Cook, of Bridgewater, MA, and Paul (Wynne) Squadrito of Geneva, FL.

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. in Manchester on Friday, May 26^th, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. A funeral home service will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester.
