Obituary of Geraldine Cyr

Geraldine (Fournier) Cyr, 78, beloved wife of Emile G. Cyr, of Manchester, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Born in Hartford to the late Ulysse and Leona (Lizotte) Fournier, Geraldine graduated from East Hartford High School. She then worked for Northeast Utilities for 20 years, was a crossing guard for the Town of Manchester, and also worked part time at Highland Park. Around the holidays, she enjoyed being "Mrs. Claus" at Wickham Park.

Geraldine is survived by her husband Emile of 58 years; her children Teresa DiGregorio and her husband Anthony of Kissimmee, FL, Robin Cyr of Manchester, Brian Cyr of Vernon and Monique Cyr of Manchester; grandchildren Nicholas DiGregorio, Aisha Thompson, Katrina Werner, Alec DiGregorio and Lucas Butler; great-grandchildren Cecilia DiGregorio and Georgia Thompson; her sister Gloria Callahan of East Hartford, and her brothers Pete Fournier of Barre, VT, and Robert Fournier of East Hartford, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. in Manchester on Thursday, May 11^th, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams St. S, on Friday, May 12^th, at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at St. James Cemetery.
