Obituary of Philip G. Poirier
Philip George Poirier, 98, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2023, at his home in Lebanon, CT.
“Phil” was born in Hartford, CT, to Elizabeth Mardelle (Byron) and Alcid Antine Poirier on September 13, 1924. He was an Army Air Corps staff sergeant veteran of World War II. He worked for Ernest Peterson, Inc. for 44 years, starting as a clerk and retiring as Vice President and Corporate Secretary.
Phil built houses and horse farms over the years for his family and spent many hours in the barn or on the tractor until well into his nineties. It is hard to describe the force of nature that he was.
He is survived by two daughters—Leslie J. Poirier and husband Richard F. Middleton II, and Kristen L. and husband Steve Marquardt, as well as his granddaughter Lyndsey K. and husband Sean Johns, great-grandson Brody, and step-granddaughter Katie Marquardt.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Lorraine F. (Bolton) Poirier, son David J. Poirier, and brother Frederick A. Poirier.
