Antonio Mazzetta, Sr.

Obituary of Antonio Mazzetta, Sr.

Antonio Mazzetta Sr., 87, of Manchester, passed peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 28, 2023. Son of the late Americo and Cesira Mariana Mazzetta, Antonio was born on March 30, 1936, in Rome, Italy and went on to graduate and later to serve in the Italian army.

Antonio came to America with his brother Giancarlo and they both began working as chefs at Dino's Restaurant in West Hartford, where he would go on to meet and marry the love of his life, Cecilia (Shirley) Bolduc.  Antonio (or Tonino which he was later called) worked at Dino’s for 20 plus years until it’s closing and then later at Nulli’s restaurant in Manchester, until he left to care for his ailing wife. Together he and Shirley would go on to raise two children and stay together until her passing.

In his free time, Antonio enjoyed gardening (especially his tomato plants), cooking for his family, and watching soccer and his favorite baseball team, the Red Sox. In his later years, Antonio enjoyed watching the cooking channel, redesigning his house and spending time with his grandchildren.

Antonio is survived by his children, Antonio Mazzetta, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Anna (Briget) Mazzetta; his grandchildren, James, Paul, Desiree, Marissa and Lacey Mazzetta, Tyler Nadeau, Dylan McKenna and Kayleigh Graham; his great-grandchildren, Sean Burney, Noah Nadeau and Avery Nadeau, as well as many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both here and back in Italy. Besides his parents and loving wife, Antonio was predeceased by his grandson, Paul Mazzetta, and brothers Sergio and Giancarlo Mazzetta.
