Obituary of Melva J. Converse
M Joan Converse, 82 beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at home in Bolton on April 19, 2023. Born at home on Thanksgiving Day in Eightmile, WV to the late Gladys (Shanholtzer) and Melvin Butler. Joan moved to CT in 1964 and made her home here. She loved to host huge family dinners that everyone was welcome at. Her generous and caring spirit will be missed.
She was predeceased by her two older brothers William and Robert Butler, her twin sister Jean B Hall and 2 nephews Barry Butler and Clyde Hall Jr.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence A. Converse, two daughters Kimberly (Scott) and Lori (Mike), 4 beloved granddaughters Kacie, Katrina, Molly and Rachel, brothers Kenneth (Donna) of Wellsburg, WV, and Stephen (Sharla) of Beech Bottom WV. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
