Obituary of Anthony Baluk

Anthony (Tony) Baluk Jr., 80 of Coventry, CT passed away on March 31, 2023. Tony was born in Hartford, CT on May 29, 1942. He graduated from Windsor High School and went on to graduate from New England Technical School.

Tony married Gloria Rutsky on October 3, 1964. After 42 years of marriage, Gloria passed in 2006, Tony never stopped missing her. 

Tony retired from Scan Optics of Manchester, CT. He was known amongst friends to be one of the most loyal UCONN Basketball fans. He loved talking about rebuilding his 1933 Ford Coupe from the ground up. Listening to music from the 50’s always made him happy. Throughout his life, Tony was known to be a jovial friend to all. Memories of Tony are deeply rooted in his love for Ukrainian food and heritage. 

Tony is survived by his sister, Barbara Fink of Eastham, MA, niece Alyson and husband Kevin Iarrusso of Hampton, NH along with their children, Emma and Giovanni Iarrusso. Tony also leaves behind his sister-in-law Kay Taylor and nephew Robert Taylor of Coventry, niece Cathy Taylor and her husband, Ray, of Coventry. Tony’s friends and neighbors Glenn and Reggie have been loyal and true, and the family thanks them. 

Tony is preceded in death by his wife Gloria, his father and mother, Anthony and Sophie Baluk. Along with his brother-in-law, Gerald N. Fink and nephew, Michael Anthony Fink. 

The funeral service will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. in Manchester, CT on April 3, 2023, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the funeral at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT. Family and friends may call on April 2, 2023, from 5 to 7 pm.
