Obituary of William Vachon

William Joseph Vachon, 69, of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023. He was the proud father of Sarah (Desjardin), Alison (Nicholes) & Hannah. Bill is also survived by his brother Wayne, son-in-law Glen and was Papa to Violet, Reed & Lorraine. He was predeceased by his parents, Noel Marie (Colburn) and Wilfred Donat Vachon.

After graduating from NFA in '71, Bill spent his career designing submarines at Electric Boat, which afforded him an opportunity to fulfil his dream of traveling the world from his homebase in England for six years. Bill was an active member of the school building committee & loved to help others, give advice, watch the news & leave long voicemails. He attended more than 100 concerts, was a passionate fan of UConn women's basketball & adored having his '72 Buick Gran Sport rebuilt. He was confident, generous & thoughtful.  He will be greatly missed.

Bill's family will receive family & friends on Sunday, April 2 from 3-5pm at Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W Center St, Manchester. In lieu of flowers, Bill would appreciate an act of kindness in his memory or a vote against Trump in the upcoming election.
