Obituary of Helen A. Socha

Helen A. Socha, 95, of Manchester, passed away on March 23, 2023, at Vernon Manor. Daughter of the late Daniel and Angelina (Bartone) Angelo, she was born on October 12, 1927, in New London. 

Helen was a member of the Assumption Ladies Guild, Mother Circle, and she enjoyed her summers in Cape Cod with her family for over 50 years. She loved Sunday Mass gatherings at Church of the Assumption with all of her lady friends, followed by breakfast.

Helen is survived by her children John Socha and his wife Frances of Longmeadow, and Kim Bednar and her husband Andy of Andover; her grandchildren Teddy, David, Tom, Caroline, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren Christopher, Jacob, and Parker; her sister Patty Horan of Illinois, and several loved nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Edward, she was predeceased by her sister Irene Sullins and her son Daniel Socha.

Helen’s family would like to thank the caring staff of Vernon Manor and the hospice staff.

Relatives and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. in Manchester on Sunday, March 26 from 1 to 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 27 at 10am at Church of the Assumption, 27 Adams St. South (please meet directly at church) followed by burial at Bolton Center Cemetery.
