Obituary of Elizabeth Pescosolido

Elizabeth (Betty) Pescosolido, aged 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Thursday, March 16, 2023, at her home in Manchester.

Betty was born June 3, 1934, in Hartford, CT to the late Charles and Celina (Nadeau) Roath. After marrying her husband Peter in 1955, Betty and Peter relocated to Manchester where they raised their 6 children. She was a part time resident of Tequesta, FL for 33 years.

Betty was a graduate of East Hartford High School but raising her family was her career. She hosted Sunday dinner to her increasing family for 68 years. Some of her best memories were around the dining room table or at her winter home in Florida.

Surviving family members include her loving husband of 68 years Peter, her six children and their spouses: Peter and MaryAnne Pescosolido, Vernon, CT; Karen Kennedy, Hebron CT; Jeffrey and Anita Pescosolido, Vernon, CT; Mary and Arthur Moffitt, Coventry, CT; John Pescosolido, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Patricia and Carl Richards, Portland, CT. Additionally, she leaves 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother Lawrence and Dale Roath, Port St. Lucie, FL and her sister Frances and Francis Scata, Glastonbury, CT, many nephews and nieces, cousins, and close friends. She was predeceased by her son-in-law David Kennedy and her granddaughter Sydney Coe.

The family will receive guests at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street, Manchester, CT on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06040. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
