Obituary of Helen M. Mea

Helen Mea, age 89, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, March 3^rd, 2023, at Saint Francis Hospital. Helen was born on June 3^rd, 1933, in Manhattan, New York to the late Charles and Margaret (Ketteringham) Morale. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony G. Mea, to whom she was married to for 42 years. Helen spent her early years in Queens, New York before moving to Southeastern Connecticut, the majority of that time spent living in Old Lyme.  

She is survived by her loving family: brother Richard Morale, her children Margaret Kelly and Anthony Mea, his wife Karen, 4 grandchildren (Edward, Andrea, Rachel, and Allison), and 3 great grandchildren (Viviana, Daniele, and James). She was also predeceased by her brother Peter Morale and son in law Edward T. Kelly III. Helen was known to many as Honey, a nickname her grandchildren bestowed upon her. Her family will miss her warm personality and cooking. She spent summers hosting her family and friends at her home in Old Lyme, creating wonderful memories for years to come.

There will be a celebration of life Wednesday March 8th at 11am at Christ the King Church in Old Lyme, CT.
