Obituary of Raymond G. Pisch

Raymond G. Pisch, 71, of Andover, CT, passed away peacefully at Vernon Manor on February 16th, with his best friend and cousin by his side. He was the son of the late Sgt. Francis S. Pisch and Irene Rose Ponticelli Pisch.

Raymond was raised in Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School in 1969. He embarked on adventures that included travels and living experiences across the United States, in Europe and Canada. He lived in the Alaskan Bush and the French Quarter of New Orleans. He enjoyed family trips to Italy and traveled by BMW motorcycle throughout Europe. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, and billiards player.

Raymond worked as the Superintendent of Maintenance for the Manchester Housing Authority and was a Federal Housing Authority Inspector. In the 1970’s, he settled in Andover, where he enjoyed “life on the lake” for the past 45 plus years.

Raymond is survived by his daughter Kayla Koza (Christopher) and granddaughter Avery Rose Koza, step-daughter Jessica Lee and granddaughter AnnaBella Bordieri, brothers Frank Pisch, Jr. (Kathleen) and Giovanni Ponticelli, sister Linda Weintraub, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Raymond will be especially missed by best friend and (brother from another mother) Walter “Ted” Tedford and wife Deb, and cousins Patty Maneggia (Yolanda Jenkins) and Sharon Woodward (David).

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester, on Saturday, March 18th, 2023, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., with a funeral home service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andover Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 11 School Road, Andover, CT 06232, or to the donor’s choice.
