Obituary of George E. Jarvis
George E. Jarvis, 93 of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Chestertown, Maryland. He was born on July 15, 1929, in Manchester, CT and was the son of Archie and Hattie (Groves) Jarvis.
George is survived by his brother Arthur Jarvis and wife Joan, his stepsons Bernard Gagnon and wife Lori, and Robert Gagnon and wife Linda, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by thirteen of his siblings.
George was known for his pie baking skills, which were always enjoyed at his family gatherings.
George was a Board Member of the Zagray Farm Museum in Colchester and mentored younger generations on maintaining and operating heavy construction equipment. He had many friends from the Zagray Farm Museum that celebrated his 93rd birthday with him. George also spent many years volunteering with the Big Brothers Organization.
A graveside burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillstown Road Cemetery, 180 Hillstown Road, Manchester.
