Obituary of Robert M. Andrews

Robert M. Andrews (Bob), 72, of East Windsor, longtime resident of East Hartford, passed away on Wednesday, January 25^th, 2023, peacefully with his family by his side.

Beloved husband and soldier of Mary Baron-Andrews of East Windsor, devoted father of Laura B. Andrews, Sara J. Pizzanello (John) of Manchester and Candi McCann (Mick) of Gilbert, Arizona, brother of Todd and Anne Marie Andrews of Newington, grandfather to John A. Pizzanello of Manchester and Tavish and Taryn McCann of Gilbert, Arizona, great-grandfather of TJ McCann, as well as uncle of many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father Patricia Andrews Mandeville and Robert W. Andrews of East Hartford.

Bob enjoyed retirement, and his family was everything to him. He loved fishing and was an avid Red Sox fan. He was a great fan of Mark Knopfler and Bruce Springsteen’s music, as well as an avid bird watcher. Bob was a member of the American Legion. He fought bravely in the Vietnam War Conflict, earning a Bronze Star Medal and ultimately passed away from a rare cancer due to his exposure to agent orange.

Relatives and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St. in Manchester on Monday, January 30^th for a visitation from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, January 31^st at St. Rose Church, 33 Church Street in East Hartford at 10am, please meet at church. Burial will follow immediately after at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Hartford.
