Obituary of Cindy Beckwith

We are sad to announce the passing of Cindy L. (Carpenter) Beckwith, 58, of Bolton, CT. Cindy passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, December 31, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Fibromuscular Dysplasia and Sarcoma.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, James Beckwith, as well as her son James Beckwith of Washington, D.C. She also leaves behind her mother, Gladys Carpenter, of Middlefield, CT, her sister, Becky (John) Cousino of Middlefield, CT, her brother, Brian Carpenter, of Middlefield,CT, her Mother-in-Law, Dail Negro, of Hebron, CT, her Father-in-Law James and Lorraine Beckwith, of Glastonbury, CT, Sister-In-Law, Debbie (Roger) Barrett of Bolton, CT, Brother-In-Law, Steve Beckwith (Claudine), of Texas, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased in death by her father, Leonard Carpenter and step father-in-law, Gilbert Negro.

Cindy was born in Manchester, NH on June 8, 1964. She lived most of her childhood in Middlefield, CT and graduated from Coginchaug Regional Highschool. She went on in her education to learn medical coding and billing where she became highly regarded in her field. Cindy was currently employed with Connecticut GI.

Cindy married James in 1990 and built a life with their son in Bolton. It was the simplest pleasures in life that brought her happiness. Cindy enjoyed peaceful walks, taking trips to Cape Cod with her family, seeing shows at Mohegan Sun with her husband, and finding fun and interesting places to visit. Cindy, much like her father, was a talented photographer and had the ability to capture the beauty that she saw in nature through her photos. She was excellent at baking, made a spectacular strawberry rhubarb pie and enjoyed making homemade soaps and other crafts. She loved hosting Thanksgiving each year at her home and enjoyed working in her garden. Cindy’s infectious smile and sense of humor emitted joy, laughter, and glow into all those around her and will be so greatly missed.

Although Cindy’s health failed her, she never stopped fighting for her life and her hope never wavered. Cindy’s strength and courage that she possessed to fight her disease was nothing short of incredible, and although she may have succumbed to it, she did not let it win. Cindy’s soul lives on in all the beautiful things in this world. She is the warm breeze after a summer rain. She is the waves as they crash into the coastline. She is where the sunlight touches as it sets every night. She is the peaceful silence during a snowfall. And she is the first blooming flower after a long, cold, winter. Cindy’s soul burned too fiercely to be put out, and this world is not as bright without her in it.
