Obituary of Evelyn E. Thibodeau

Evelyn E. (Crane) Thibodeau, 91, of Manchester, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She is the daughter of the late Clifford Crane and Evelyn (Leveille) Crane Duquette.   

Evelyn was born in 1931 in Hartford, CT.  She spent her life working hard and provided a loving home for her family.  In addition to working into her late eighties, she had other passions.  They included making clothes for her numerous grandchildren and dolls, baking [which included making specialized birthday cakes and beautiful wedding cakes], collecting dolls, making puzzles, watching old black & white TV shows and movies [she especially enjoyed westerns] and attending her grandchildren's youth hockey games.  She loved the outdoors; she kept busy with yard work or shoveling snow in the Winter; nothing was too hard for her.  In her later years, she fell in love with her Grandson's dog, Stanley.  Every Sunday he would lay beside her bringing much comfort; they loved each other equally-Stan will miss his visits with her.  She was always happiest when surrounded by her family and will be sorely missed by all. 

She is survived by her children Michele Horila and her husband Allen of Ashford, Michael Thibodeau III and his wife Rosemary of Manchester, Timothy Thibodeau and his wife Flora of East Hartford, Donald Thibodeau and his wife Leslie of Tolland, David Thibodeau of Andover and Ex-daughter-in-law Susan Thibodeau of Tolland; grandchildren Jill, Mark, Seth, Deanna, Michael IV, Dean, Matthew, Nathan, Rachel, Rebekah, Moriah, Jason, Darcey, Lee, Kaitlin and Kyle; as well as several great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Michael Thibodeau Jr and her five brothers and one sister.   

Calling hours will be private at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. in Manchester on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 11-1 followed by a graveside burial at St. James Cemetery.
