Obituary of Dennis P. O'Neill

Dennis Patrick O’Neill, 66, of Manchester passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, surrounded by family. He is the son of the late Joan (McCloskey) and John O’Neill, Sr.   

Dennis, also known as Pops, spent the majority of his life in Manchester raising his six children. He loved to play cards, specifically setback, hike Case Mountain and other local trails, root on the Yankees and UConn basketball, travel, and never turned down a lobster roll or sweets of all kinds. 

He leaves behind his children Daniel O’Neill and his wife Ryann of Vernon, Kelley O’Neill and her wife Laura of South Windsor, Morgan O’Neill of Manchester, Dennis O’Neill Jr. and his partner Amy Kulas of South Windsor, Holly O’Neill and her fiancé Brian Baver of Manchester, and Evan O’Neill and his partner Brenda Sanchez of Manchester; his grandchildren Shaylee, Steven, Evan, Olivia, Callum, Finn, Faith, Jewelz and Evan Jr.; brothers Colin O’Neill and his wife Lisa, John O’Neill and his wife Susan, Terrance O’Neill and his wife Maureen, and Timothy O’Neill; and his aunt Mary O’Neill, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Kevin and aunts Johanna and Elizabeth. 

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. in Manchester on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, from 2-5 p.m. with a funeral home service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 132 West 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001.
