Dear Linda:
Marilyn and I were stunned to learn about Lynell’s passing. Please accept our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences for your loss.
I will always remember how I could count on him to inspire me and the Literary staff (photo) at Territorial Headquarters. His immaculate attire, imaginative mug collection, passion for education, and insightful interpretation of Scripture during our intimate, and insightful bible studies challenged me to be more, do more, and care more for others and for the Kingdom of God.
These qualities will be forever etched in my mind and heart. I am truly blessed to have known Dr. Lynell Johnson.

To the family and friends of Dr. Lynell Johnson: It was a privilege to spend every possible moment with Lynell Johnson. We have crossed paths many times from Salvation Army territorial events, to SNE divisional events, then as Soldiers together in lay ministry at Hartford Citadel. The Johnson's door was always open and a welcome extended. The best hospitality was extended, the best and challenging discussion and thoughts shared about "How has God gifted us" and "How do you think you can grow in that gift". Your kindnesses and teaching insights will always be cherished.
Lynell, I look forward to meeting you again, in the presence of The Lord. Linda (and Trevor), all love and prayers in this difficult time.
From your Hartford Citadel student and friend,
David Cornish, The Salvation Army of Willimantic
(formerly a Salvation Army Soldier at Hartford Citadel SNE)

My cousin, Lynell, was an accomplished person in the kingdom of man and in the Kingdom of God. Irreplaceable now, having slipped ‘the surly bonds of earth’ he then entered into that which is his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He will be missed here by many relatives and friends having made such a positive impact in His world. We now await the grand reunion — when we ALL get to heaven, by God’s grace.
