Anthony Micoletti

Obituary of Anthony A. Micoletti

On December 11, 2022 we lost a man the likes of which the world will probably never see again.  Anthony Alan (Tony) Micoletti was born on December 2, 1944 and was raised by his mother Esther (Camilloni) Papa in East Hartford, along with his sister, Irene, and three older brothers, Dominick, Freddy, and Chickie. Growing up, Tony got into many adventures with his brothers, his nephews, Ray and David, and many cousins and friends, living true stories better than Mark Twain could have ever penned.

Tony met his loving wife, Joan (Goralski) Micoletti, and they settled in her hometown of West Hartford to raise their two sons, Paul and Joseph. Early on, Tony worked in construction to pay the bills, but he truly fell in love with the art of concrete construction. This started a life-long passion for the craft that he practiced until just months before his death, much to his family's and medical team’s angst. Tony unfortunately lost his wife in middle life, but he was fortunate to find second love with his long term significant other, Kathryn Gyurko.

Tony was blessed to have a daughter in law Jessica, as well as two grandchildren, Olivia and Joey, who were the light of his life. He always made sure to have pickles and popsicles in the house whenever they came over.

Tony was a loving family man who was passionate about cooking, eating, boating, fishing, the Jets, the Yankees, early jazz music, hiking, all of his dogs throughout the years, Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and finding chicken on sale for $0.29/lb.

He loved his family with all of his soul. He was stubborn, loud, deaf, and made an art of using colorful language. But above all other things he was a generous, loving, charismatic, hardworking, intelligent and fun to be around man that everyone fell in love with whether they wanted to or not. We are left with all of his amazing stories, the foundations he built, and his endless love for his family and friends.
