Obituary of Sharon G. Sicard

Sharon G. Sicard, 56, of Coventry, the beloved wife of Daniel J. Sicard passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 2, 2022, at her home.  Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of her mother Andrea (Paggioli) Sauer and her husband Douglas of Bolton and her father the late Robert A. Giola, Sr and his wife Margaret Giola.  She had worked as a paraprofessional in special needs for the Coventry grammar school, taught Catechism at St. Mary’s Church in Coventry and was a former member of the Nathan Hale Ancient Fife and Drum.  Sharon was an 18-year survivor of a heart transplant that was received in 2004.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her children Joseph E. Sicard and his wife Karlie of Bolton, Michael C. Sicard and his wife Anna Pollansky Sicard, and Ryan M. Sicard and his wife Melissa all of Coventry; her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Mary, Chace, Kinsley, Skylar, Madison, Mason and Mara; her siblings, Robert Giola, Jr. and his wife Monique, Thomas Giola and his wife Janet, and Brenda Giola and her longtime companion Brian Clark; step mother Margaret Giola; brother-in-laws Donald and Debbie Sicard, James Sicard, and Steven and Lisa Sicard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon’s family would like to offer special thank you to the Polhemus family for taking care of Sharon and making her comfortable as she made her way Heaven. 

Funeral service will be held on Friday December 9^th at 11 am at St. Mary Church, 1600 Main Street in Coventry.  Family and friends may call at the John F.
