Obituary of Olga Iris Diaz Gomez

Olga Iris Diaz Gomes, 77, of East Hartford, CT, passed away on Sunday, November 6^th, 2022.

Olga was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico on January 26, 1945. Olga built a beautiful family with Jaime Rivera Rivera. They spent 44 years together until Jaime’s departure in 2006.

Olga’s full-time job was to be a mother and amazing companion to her eight children. She dedicated her life to her family and God. She was part of the Harford Church of the Nazarene board council where she enjoyed serving our Lord and her church family. After raising her children, she found a new love by helping raise her grandchildren and had the privilege of raising one of those grandchildren as one of her own children. Olga’s love and dedication is something that would help anyone succeed in any career…instead, Olga decided to be successful as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a faithful servant of the Lord. For that, we are all thankful.

Olga is survived by her children, Olga J. Rivera Diaz, Eddie Rivera Diaz, Jaime & Yolanda Rivera, Jr., Francisco & Angeline Rivera, Mayra E. & Edward Pino, Edith Johanna Rivera, Luis A. Rivera, and Yaitza G. & Mark Colicchio; her grandchildren, Eddie D. Rivera, Suleika & Jazpar Negron, Tanisha M. & Eric Charron, Tatiana M. Gomez, Alexis Rivera, Edward Pino, Jr., James & Katura Rivera, Kiara M. Rivera, Yazelyne C. & Rachel Winchester, Francheska M. Rivera, Mark A. Colicchio, Jr., Christopher M. Colicchio, and Lily M. Colicchio; her great grandchildren, Shayden D. Soto, Elex G. Rosario Gomez, and Amaya G. Rivera; her sister Wanda E. Diaz Gomez; her nieces, Julissa Diaz Del Valle, Winneska M. Ortega Diaz, and Julianeshka Ramos Diaz; her nephew, Fernando Miguel Ramos Diaz, and other family and friends.

Olga is preceded in death by Jaime Rivera Rivera; mother, Julia Gomez Gonzalez; father, Gaspar Diaz Martinez; and brother Angel Luis Diaz Gomez.

Family and friends may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, on Sunday, November 13^th, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. A funeral home service will be held on Monday, November 14^th, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
