William Legault

Obituary of William F. Legault

William F. Legault, 93, of Manchester, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 23, 2022.  He was the beloved husband for 63 years to the late Carol Legault (Dixon). He was born on June 7, 1929, to Alfred and Aurelia Legault and was raised with his brothers by Grace and George Kennedy.

William graduated from Manchester High School and the University of Connecticut.  He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.  He went on to work in the banking industry and spent over 35 years at the Savings Bank of Manchester.  He was an avid UConn sports fan attending several Women’s Final Four Championship basketball games.  He was one of the founding members of the Manchester Elks, serving as their secretary as well as being Elk of the Year.  In addition, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years.  One of his biggest passions was taking pictures and it was hard to find him without a camera in his hand.  And we can’t forget how much he loved his sweets and breakfast at Chez Ben.

William loved spending time with his family and is survived by his four children:  Mary McConville and her husband Jay of Tolland, Michael Legault and his wife Karen of Coventry, Theresa Renner and her husband Art of South Carolina, Patricia Legault and her husband Steve Paasch of Tolland; his grandchildren:  Andrew McConville and his wife Megan, Justin, Nathan and Kevin Legault, Leah Kaufmann and her husband Max, Neal Dansky, and Nicholas Paasch; his great grandchildren: Louis and Samuel McConville; and his brother, John (Jack) Legault and wife Fern.
