Obituary of Pamela M. Cooney

Pamela M Cooney, 66, of Manchester, CT passed away on Wednesday, October 12^th, 2022. Daughter of the late Donald and Roberta (Collins) Cooney. She was born on February 6^th, 1956 in Providence, RI and spent most of her years in East Hartford, CT.

Pamela graduated from Notre Dame College and managed Boarders Book & Music store for 15 years followed by CT Fire Academy Academic Bookstore for 22 years. Pam was a strong willed, independent, well-educated woman with a vivacious personality. She was known to both go above and beyond to help anyone, and to show her affection with the quick dexterity of her middle finger. She had an infectious laugh that could be heard echoing down the hall, and always appreciated a good time. Pam loved her books and was an aficionado for history. She enjoyed her 70’s music, the arts, and took pride in her work at the CT Fire Academy.

Pamela is survived by her son Brian and his wife Jessica Piccarello. Brian meant the world to Pam. She knew she could always count on him. She thoroughly enjoyed her lunch dates with him, and their annual excursion for the most perfect small Christmas tree. Pam and Brian shared a fond memory of waking up early and watching the sunrise over Cadillac Mountain despite both of their distaste for early mornings.

Pam will be sorely missed by her family, coworkers, and friends.
