Obituary of Peter W. Griffin
Peter W. Griffin, 56, of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 10, 2022. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Arlene (Dietz) Griffin. Pete was a graduate of Cheney Tech and employed with the Union Local 91 Elevator Constructor and was a licensed Journey Electrician.
Pete lived the life many would enjoy. He liked to travel, loved food, PBR, classic cars, motorcycles, snowmobiling with friends and the smile of a beautiful woman. He also loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Coon and Fox Club. He was brilliant at solving problems, often leaving us wondering if he slept at a Holiday Inn last night. He also was a proud member of the “Hot Rod Happy Hour Club.”
Pete always would lend a helping hand, reminded you to keep keys with your car, and would make sure that live music and beer would go together.
He leaves behind his siblings Mary Ellen Fortin and her husband Larry of FL, Kenneth Griffin, Jr. of Coventry, CT, Patricia DiBerto of FL, Paul Griffin of Coventry, CT and Donna Griffin of FL; as well as nieces and nephews, and friends who became family. Especially those he made as a member of the Zipser Club in Manchester and the crew at Sun Valley Beach Club in Stafford. He was also predeceased by his niece Lisa Fortin.
Friends and family may call on the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 4-7 pm. Burial will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Cemetery, 368 Broad Street, Manchester.
Everyone who remembers Pete, is asked to celebrate his life in their own way; raise a glass of your favorite drink in Pete’s memory, as it would be quite appropriate!
