Obituary of Sigrid Oliva

Sigrid Oliva, 58, beloved wife of Luis E. Oliva passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. Sigrid was born in Guatemala City on March 27, 1964, daughter of Jesus Alfredo Scheel and Candida Adelina Reynoso. She adored and supported dogs and all animals. She taught CCD at St. Bridget’s Church in Manchester, was a notary public, worked as a quality inspector and manager, and in her younger years was a beloved Kindergarten Teacher. 

Along with her loving husband Luis E. Oliva, she leaves her son Joshua Oliva both of Manchester, three sisters Helga Scheel – Estrada of California, Tania Calderon and Adelina DelCarmen Alvarado both of Guatemala City, two brothers Alfredo Scheel and Juan Byron Scheel both of Guatemala City, numerous nieces, nephews and friends and her two beloved dogs Harley & Deshka.  

Family and friends are invited for visitation with the family on September 21, 2022, from 4-7 pm at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St. Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
