Obituary of Eric S. Clark

Eric Steven Clark, our beloved son, brother, and friend, was called unexpectedly to God on Thursday, September 8th, 2022, at Hartford Hospital with his mother, Sister, and Brother-in-law by his side.

Eric, born in Hartford and growing up in West Hartford, spent most his days enjoying the outdoors. As a young person, when he was not running Track or Cross Country for Sedgwick or Conard High School, he was busy working on lawns and gardens, enjoying outdoor events or tearing up the town with his good friends on dirt bikes. He was known for his energy, kind heart and youthful spirit.

Eric also had a love for food and cooking and worked in many kitchens over his career where he made great friends with staff and customers. His last position of 10 years at Saint Joseph’s College in the Dining Department, is one he was most proud of. He loved his relationships with fellow co-workers, feeding “his kids” and would get upset if things were not exactly right. “They must start the day with good food! They have a lot of work to do!” he would often say. When he was not at the school, you could find Eric making someone’s yard beautiful. He helped many landscaping companies over the years and often freelanced as time permitted. Again, it needed to be perfect. It was his work by his hand, and it was going to be done right.

Eric was a kind and loving soul. He was genuine and greeted the world with childlike enthusiasm. Conversations would often include his favorite bands, going to shows, “don’t overcook that!” “Let me call and ask my sister” and “remember that time?” You would also often hear him speak of his nieces Diana and Andrea, of which he was extremely proud and loved dearly.

Eric leaves his parents, Fred E Clark III of Bloomfield and Donna and James Goodrich of Rochester, NH. His Sister and Bother-in-Law Sarah and Zack Torcello, His Nieces Diana and Andrea, aunts, Uncles, and cousins from both near and abroad and countless friends. He will be forever in our hearts and forever missed.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 24^th at Tierney Funeral Home in Manchester, CT from 10am-12pm, followed by a short service.
