Obituary of John Kurowski

John “Papa” Kurowski, 93, passed away peacefully at home while on home hospice on August 26, 2022. Born in Palmerton, PA, John attended Kutztown State University and received his Masters at Lehigh University. He went on to teach Math in So. Carolina, New Jersey, and at Wethersfield High School, until his retirement. During his teaching career he also taught math at in the Connecticut State Prison system for 20 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He also achieved his 6^th year of study in Math, after his marriage.

He is survived by his wife “Dee” of 63 years, living in Manchester where they raised their three children; his son John and predeceased wife Ellen and John’s daughter Jamie, daughter Cynthia Bielawski and husband Deacon Alan Bielawski, daughter Paula Ritchie and husband Steven Ritchie and their daughter Jessica Backiel and husband John Paul Backiel; and great grandchildren Ginny, Birdie and Buck Backiel and predeceased grandson, Daniel Ritchie.
