Obituary of William B. Caplan

William Benjamin “Ben” Caplan, 39, died unexpectedly at home August 21, 2022. He was the beloved son of Neal Caplan and Mary (Sernoffsky) Caplan. In addition to his parents, he leaves his fiancée Lindsay Schwabe; son Logan Benjamin Caplan; brother Matthew Caplan and Matthew’s partner Raquel Ocasio. He also leaves grandfather Robert B. Sernoffsky; aunts Kathleen Bottaro (Richard), Susan Sernoffsky, JoAnn Sernoffsky Upham, Jeanie Schnell, Julie Sernoffsky Barnes; uncle Robert G. Sernoffsky (Charlotte); and numerous cousins.

Ben graduated from Manchester Public Schools and Lincoln Technical’s electrician program. He was employed at Enjet Aero’s quality control department.

Ben was a passionate hockey fan as evidenced by his collection of Whalers gear, participation in adult league roller hockey, coaching of youth hockey and devotion to the Boston Bruins. He also enjoyed kayaking, jet skiing, fishing, and disc golf.

Calling hours are Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 am at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street in Manchester, followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm.
