Beverly Pizzanello

Obituary of Beverly J. Pizzanello

Beverly Jean Pizzanello, 90, longtime resident of the Southend of Hartford, passed away on Thursday, August 4th, 2022, and leaves behind a legacy of unparalleled work ethic, caring, toughness and tenacity that she passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beverly is survived by her three children: Paula Vincenzo, Cathy Carabase and Fred Pizzanello; her grandchildren George and Kelly Carabase, Jesse and Amy Carabase, Joe and Marikate Carabase, and Stephen (deceased) and Stephanie; and great grandchildren Monroe, Jesse, Brooklyn, Gia, Sophia, Georgie, Niko, Maeve, and Joey, as well as Cathy's fiance, Paul Cichon and close family friend, Tony Ciotto, and her sister, Cheryl Coleman. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilber and Jean (Wilson) Jensen, brothers Butch, Jerry, Ronny and Danny, her grandson Steve Cogtella and aunt Ethel.

Born during the Great Depression (in 1932), she overcame many obstacles, including surviving July 6th Hartford circus fire of 1944, overcoming both scarlet fever and rheumatic fever and going on to live a long loving life that centered around helping others.   Whether it was the many rescue dogs including Chichi the coffee drinking Chihuahua, neighbors, friends and family in need, or as a caregiver to those with special needs. As a single mother, working multiple jobs, she proudly raised her three kids without any handouts. As a grandmother she was also a key component of their lives, including annual summer trips to Misquamicut beach. She enjoyed the weekly mall trips and dinner at Ruby Tuesdays with her daughters and grandchildren. Once her first grandchild opened Buona Vita in Enfield, that became her favorite place to eat great food with the ones she loved.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
