Obituary of Teddiann Galas

Teddiann Galas - Casolla passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 29th, 2022, after a brave and courageous battle with angiosarcoma. She was born in Palmer, Massachusetts, May 14th, 1963, raised in Monson Massachusetts, and lived her adult life in Hartford County Connecticut. Teddi leaves her beloved husband Richard Casolla of East Hartford, Connecticut, cousins Leanne Hasenjager of Bondsville, Massachusetts, cousins Carol & Jim Delaney & family, Cousin Stella Blakeborough, cousin Meredith Reynolds & family, several other cousins, Step brother Craig Taylor & Family, Step sister Diane Tyzka & family, and step sister Karen Beebe; A large church family at The Pentecostals of Greater Hartford, especially Charles and Marie Hill; also dear friends Darlene Menard O'Donnell, Sue & Russ Hicks, Joan O'Loughlin, Glenda Perez, and Eneida Reyes, among several others.  She is preceeded in death by her father, Theodore J Galas, her mother, Ruth Ann Blakeborough-Galas, step mother Madeleine Moriarty-Galas, her ward Jack Berezecki whom she cared for many years, and her beloved pet Dove Tweety.

Teddi spent much of her life as a CNA and cook at Laurel Living Center and Holiday House group homes, before taking over as her ward's caretaker. Even in the midst of the cancer she had a joyous and upbeat spirit. Teddiann loved her friends and family, she loved caring for people, she loved trips to Maine and especially loved Hampton Beach.

I would like to thank especially all of the staff, therapists, nurses, and aides at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center in Bristol Connecticut for providing above and beyond care for Teddiann for these last two years, and the oncology team at Yale New Haven Hematology and Urology, and at Hartford Health Care New Britain Oncology for their tireless devotion to give Teddiann the best possible quality of life.

There will be a memorial service for Teddiann on Friday, September 16, 10:00 AM at the Pentecostals of Greater Hartford, located at 54 Bolton Street, Hartford, Connecticut.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
