Obituary of Yeria Kasparian

Yeria “Ely” Kasparian, 94, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2022, surrounded by family. Ely was born in Biver Gardanne, France on February 18, 1928, to the late Boghos and Markerid (Oskanian) Kasparian. He immigrated to the United States after working in the coal mines as a young boy and began a long career in the painting industry. He worked as a professional painter for many years with Peter J. Sayadoff retiring in 1994.

In his spare time, Ely loved working in his thriving vegetable garden, dancing and listening to music, playing cards, watching soccer, and above all else, he loved spending time with family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life, Maria Blanche Albert with whom he shared many memories over 45 wonderful years. Ely will be missed dearly by his nephew, Raphael Kasparian of France, and his niece and her family, Rachael Foran and her husband Rick and their son Nicholas of Manchester. He also leaves his stepchildren, Jacqueline Albert of Newington; Denise Ryan and her husband Michael of Coventry; Renee Zerio and her husband Danny of Glastonbury; Lucie Carangelo and her husband James of Glastonbury. He was “Pepé” to his seven adored grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Ely was no stranger to hard work and always had the energy to play along with his niece, nephew, grandchildren, and great grandchildren which gave him great joy and happiness. He now joins his parents as well as two brothers, Antranik and Joseph Kasparian, who now welcome him home.

Visiting hours for Ely will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 9-11AM and will conclude with a funeral home service at 11AM at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W Center St., Manchester, CT 06040. There will be a private burial in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Special Olympics Glastonbury (C/O Tina Yenkner, 65 Spellman Point Road, East Hampton, CT 06424).
