Obituary of Helen L. Gallagher

Helen Lula Gallagher of Manchester, CT passed away on May 21^st in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 100.

Visitation will be held at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home on May 28^th from 11:30am – 12:30pm and burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Manchester. 

Helen was born in Vassalboro, Maine to Lula and Edgar Gary on May 5^th, 1922.  Over the years Helen enjoyed golf, softball, duckpin bowling and cards. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crosswords and Jeopardy – anything to show the boys how much smarter than them she was.  But, above all, she loved spending time with her family, her home state of Maine and the beach.

Helen is survived by her children Sheila, Gary, Tim, Brett and Matt and her grandchildren Dena, Gregory, Karen, Jennifer, Alex, Aran, Matthew, Campbell, Griffen and Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel and her siblings Mary, Agnes, Patience, Eugene, Winnifred, Earl, Thelma, Ray, Walter.

The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Brookdale North and Sage Hospice, both of Scottsdale, AZ.
