Obituary of Margaret Crowley

Margaret (Miniutti) Crowley of Manchester, CT passed away peacefully at Brookdale Senior Living facility in South Windsor, CT on April 1, 2022.  Margaret was born in New Hampshire, on May 17, 1921, and attended Concord, NH schools.  She met her husband, Gerald Crowley, in Concord.  Margaret and Gerald had one child, a son, named after his father, Gerald Joseph Crowley.  Margaret and her family moved to Connecticut where she and her husband worked at Underwood Typewriter until the company moved to New Jersey.  A while after that they bought the Burnside Avenue Hardware Store in East Hartford, and Margaret was in charge of the paint and wallpaper section, in which she excelled.  Over the years Margaret and her husband enjoyed their A-Frame cottage in Maine on Ripley Lake and later their cottage in York, ME. 

Margaret leaves her daughter-in-law Theresa Sheila Crowley, her grandson Kevin Crowley and her two great-grandchildren Corey Davis and Logan Townsend.  Margaret was predeceased by her husband and her grandson, Shawn Crowley, and also her son Gerald, who passed December 9^th, 2021.  We especially want to thank Margaret’s neighbor Melanie Stewart, who always would be “right over” if Margaret needed anything. 

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
