Dear Family and Friends of Whit, I am very sorry that I can't join you on June 28 in a celebration of Whit's life. I will be out of state. I was privileged to spend some time with Whit last year, going to many NAMI-CT events. Whit and I served on the NAMI Board for two years, and he continued to be an advocate and active in the Legislature for NAMI causes. During our drives last year, Whit told me many stories of his early life, especially his time in the military when he played in a band, and his fond remembrances of Edie. He was devoted to his sons, and to the well-being of others who were impacted by mental illness. Whit will be remembered by many, and it was honor to have known him. With my sympathy Sheila B.
