Obituary of Michael Kapa

Michael Kapa Jr., 92, beloved husband of Helen (Lukaszewski) Kapa, passed away on Saturday, December 25th, 2021. Born on January 1st, 1929, in New Britain to the late Michael and Mary (Kohutko) Kapa. Michael served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Michael was also a member of the “Squadrons 33 Association”, enjoyed many of their reunions, and wishes them continued success. He was an active member of St. Marys Church in East Hartford and an avid golfer. He was also one of the founding members and instructors of the Tolland Volunteer Ambulance Association. After working for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a machinist for 37 years, he took early retirement in 1991.

He leaves behind his wife Helen, son Gregory and his wife Catherine, daughter Joan Coleman and husband William, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, CT, on Thursday January 6th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral home service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1309 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT.
