Obituary of Teresa M. MacDonald

Teresa (Lashenske) MacDonald, 91, the wife of the late John H. MacDonald, died peacefully, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Colebrook Village at Hebron.

A founding member with her husband and family, she was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption since its inception. Along with her family, the church was a major part of Teresa’s life, having been a founding member and past-president of the Ladies’ Guild, a Eucharistic Minister, lecture, and a 5th grade catechism teacher for many years. She was also a lay Carmelite and recipient of the St. Joseph’s Medal of Appreciation from the Archdiocese of Hartford. With her devotion to the church and her family, she loved her time with her children and grandchildren, doing her best to attend all their activities and sporting events. Terri will be remembered for her yearly fruit and vegetable canning and her ‘Good-times’ birthday cakes.

She is survived by her son Stephen and his wife Lori MacDonald; her daughter Joanne Davila; her son Lawrence MacDonald; her son Kenneth and his wife Martha; her daughter Dr. Marcella MacDonald D.P.M. and her wife Janet Galya; her daughter Elizabeth and her husband James J. Collins IV; her daughter Teresa MacDonald Holder; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Colebrook Village at Hebron for their gentle care, both physically and spiritually.

Family and friends may call at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, Manchester, Thursday December 9th from 4–6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 10th 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption, Adams St. South, Manchester. Christian Burial will be celebrated privately with burial at Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol, MA on Saturday, December 11th.
