Obituary of Melvin Douglas West, Jr.

Melvin Douglas West Jr. was born 12/30/61 to parents of Yolanda Harris and Melvin Douglas West Sr. at Beth Israel Med. Center in Newark NJ. Attending Elementary School graduated in 1975, went on to attend Science  High School and graduated in 1979.  Melvin also attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick NJ, and Steven Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. Melvin’s  interests  and Hobbies were playing the drums, Melvin was an awesome drummer even having is own High School band,  he was a talented artist. Melvin enlisted in the US Navy, station in San Diego California. Melvin met Linda Jones and together they shared the joy of having his one and only daughter Tiffanie Monae’ West whom he affectionately called “Baby Girl”.  Leaving Cali living a Military life he settled in Conn. Where he met Juel Vereen and together they shared the joy of having Melvin’s only son Joshua Vereen who is following his fathers’ footsteps enlisted in the Military. At present remembering and cherishing Melvin’s memory and loving him forever are his daughter Tiffanie, son Joshua, mother Yolanda, brother Lamont Harris, sister Pamela. 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 aunts and a host of cousins and friends. Special acknowledgement to Ms. Jenise Hunt and Sis-Queen his 7th cousin. The family of Melvin D. West acknowledges with deep appreciation all acts of kindness extended to them during this time of bereavement, God Bless you all for your thoughts and sympathies.  Melvin was proceeded in death by his sister Phylicia W.
