Obituary of Vernon F. Hauschild

Atty. Vernon F. Hauschild, 85, slipped peacefully into heaven on Saturday, Oct.7, 2006. Born in Chester, PA on Feb. 1st, 1921, and raised in Stonington, he went on to graduate from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and proudly served our country during WW II. He then attended UConn School of Law, from which he has been awarded an honorary Doctorate. He practiced patent and trademark law for the United Technologies Corporation, was a very active member of St. Bartholomew's Parish where he was one of the first commentators and also wrote for the Bart�s Herald. Other activities included being a volunteer at Manchester Memorial Hospital and being a troop leader for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a devoted husband and father. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, and his loving wife of 53 years Barbara. Those remaining include three children: Teri Donovan of Bristol, Kathy Clark of Manchester, and Dr. Doug Hauschild of Asheville, NC, as well as twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Vernon wanted simply to be remembered as a nice man. Those who were blessed to know him would agree that he was so much more. Funeral service will be held on Thursday (October 12, 2006) at 9:15 am from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center St. Manchester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Bartholomew Church Ludlow St. Manchester. Burial with full military honors will be held in East Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Memorial Donations may be made to St. Bartholomew Church 45 Ludlow Rd Manchester, CT 06040 or to a charity of the donor�s choice.
