Obituary of Roger W. Talbot, Sr.

Roger W. Talbot, Sr., 98, of Manchester, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Apple Rehab in Colchester. Born on September 3, 1923, to the late Grace and Edward Talbot. In 1946, he married his wife Irene (Robson), whom he met in Eccles, England while stationed with the Army Air Corp at Burtonwood Airbase during WWII. Roger worked at Dillion Ford in Manchester and then in 1959, formed a partnership with friends and fellow employees to form an ambulance service. Later, he became the sole owner and moved Ambulance Service to East Center St., moving to its current location on New State Rd in 1991. It was one of the first companies to form a wheelchair transportation service in the State.

Roger was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Irene (Robson) Talbot, and his sister Virginia Talbot. He is survived by his children Roger Talbot, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Colchester and Sarasota, FL, and Susan R. Talbot of Manchester. Roger also leaves his grandchildren Sarah and Edward Carini of Bolton, Jeffrey and Corey Talbot of Sarasota, FL, Gregory Talbot of Columbia, Molly Talbot of Manchester and Hayley Talbot of Brooklyn, NY, as well as his great-grandchildren Elijah, Bella, and Sophia Carini, Truman and Marlow Talbot.
