Obituary of Laurie Edberg

Laurie (Thompson) Edberg, 63, of Andover, CT, passed from this life and walked into the arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ while surrounded by her family and in the comfort of her home on Saturday, September 25, 2021.

Laurie was born on December 23, 1957, in Hartford, CT daughter of the late Clayton Thompson and Winifred (Gleason) Thompson. She grew up in East Hartford where she attended school and graduated from George J. Penney High School in 1974. After graduation, Laurie met and married the love of her life, Terry. Together they had 3 sons, twins Jeremy and Nathan born in 1977, followed by Aaron in 1979. A few years later, Dana Bozeman was grafted into the family and Laurie proudly considered him another of her sons.

She was an early member of the Full Gospel Interdenominational Church in Manchester, CT, giving her life over to Christ at 14 years old. She stayed a lifelong member for almost 50 years. She loved baking, cooking and being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and aunt. She also loved her church family and deeply loved her Pastor, Rev. Kalinsky. She was considered a best friend to many, many people. Laurie’s family heritage goes back 400 years in America, and she was an active member and board member of the John Libby Family Association in Scarborough, Maine for 35 years.

Laurie is survived by her sons, Jeremy, Nathan and his wife Amy, Aaron, and Dana; her brothers Lynn Thompson and his wife, Janet and Dale and his wife, Valerie; her grandchildren Kelsie, Clayton, Parker, Ryba, Riley, Paul, and Jayden; numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family members. She also leaves behind her adoring husband of 45 years, Terry G. Edberg. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Bonnie Wesson and her husband, Roger.

Family and friends wish to thank the staff of Manchester Memorial Hospital and the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center for giving us more time with Laurie and her more time with us.
