Obituary of Dennis O'Connor

Dennis J. O’Connor, beloved husband of Maura (O’Sullivan) O’Connor, passed away on September 8^th, 2021, after a long struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Dennis was born on September 6, 1949, in Hartford to Richard P. O’Connor, Jr. and Norinne (Roche) O’Connor. He was raised in East Hartford and predominately, Manchester. Dennis graduated from St. James School and East Catholic High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut (1971) and along with his J.D. degree. Dennis spent over 30 years as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Hartford.

Dennis was a communicant at St. James Parish, as well as a Eucharistic Minister. He loved the Boston Red Sox, UCONN Women’s basketball and the NY Giants.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son Neil and his wife Megan, daughters Mary-Pat Moran and her husband Carlos, and Kiera Russo and her husband Nick, a granddaughter Ariana Emond, the light of his life, as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kevin O’Connor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 15^th, 2021, at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester, CT at 10:00 a.m. with a private burial to follow.
