Obituary of Doris B. Gardner

Doris Bissonnette Gardner passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Doris was born to Arthur and Eva Bissonnette on April 29, 1926. She was raised in Danielson and was married to George L. Gardner for fifty-one years. After marrying, they moved briefly to Washington, D.C. where they both worked for the FBI before moving back to Connecticut and settling in East Hartford. Doris was a strong minded, generous, and hardworking woman. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, seeing the United States with George in their camper, doing jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She is survived by her two loving children, Betty and Bruce as well as her daughter-in-law Monica, grandchildren Shannon (Mitchell) Insero and Christopher (Julia) Gardner, as well as four wonderful great-grandchildren, Jake Insero, Mackenzie Insero, Grace Gardner and Oliver Gardner. Doris was predeceased by her sister and three brothers. She will be greatly missed. Services will be private.
