Obituary of Barbara P. Hallisey

Barbara Perry Hallisey, 60, of Andover, passed away July 15^th, 2021, after a battle with cancer, which she fought with courage, grace, and dignity.

Barbara was born in Manchester, Connecticut to the late Charles and Nancy (Vincent) Perry.

Barbara began her career at Manchester Memorial Hospital in 1977, becoming an RN upon her graduation from the Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing. She continued at Manchester Memorial until her retirement in 2019. Nursing was her passion, and she strived to make every patient’s experience as positive as possible.

She had been a resident of Andover since 1984 and loved the community and its people. Upon retiring, Barbara found a hobby in painting rocks, many of which have been hidden throughout the town in hopes of bringing a smile to the face of whomever found it.

Barbara leaves behind a loving husband, James Hallisey, and three children, Connor, Matthew, and Molly. Her family was her pride and joy, and she will be missed dearly. Barbara is also survived by brothers James Perry, his wife Tanda, and William Perry, his wife Liz, and their children Jessica, Timothy, and Elijah. She also leaves extended family in upstate New York. Barbara is predeceased by her sister Susan Perry.

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Sunday, July 25^th, from 3pm-6pm at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, CT.
