Obituary of Mark Bakanas

Mark E. Bakanas, 52, of Bolton, passed away on December 10, 2011, after a brief illness. Born in Dallas, TX, he was a graduate of Bolton High School, Class of 1977. He was a clerk at Bolton Notch Wine & Spirits for many years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and driving. He was a great friend to, and adored by, Peanut Butter, K.C., and Garbo. He is survived by his loving mother, Jeanette P. (McCooe) Bakanas of Bolton; his sisters, Dr. Erin L. Bakanas of St. Louis, MO and Lisa G. Bakanas, Esq., of Middletown; his uncle John McCooe of South Windsor; his uncle and aunt Charles and Alice McCooe of Manchester; and many, many cousins and friends. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 9 am to 10:30 am at Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street in Manchester, followed by an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Church 896 Main St. in Manchester followed by burial in St. James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allan Angels Memorial Fund at the Bolton Veterinary Hospital, 222 Boston Tpke, Bolton, CT 06043.
