Kerry Murray

Obituary of Kerry E. Murray

The family of Kerry Elizabeth Murray, 40, formerly of Newtown, CT, is deeply saddened over her untimely death on May 14th after struggles with addiction. She was born on June 10, 1980 in Bridgeport, CT and was the youngest of three children to her beloved parents, Isabelle Lee (MacKenzie) Murray (deceased 2006) and Robert Thomas Murray, Jr (deceased 2018).

She spent most of her life growing up in Newtown, CT with her two older siblings, Bobby (deceased 2014) and Lee, where she attended school and was a proud 1999 graduate of Newtown High School. She enjoyed many sports and activities through the years including swimming at Rock Ridge Country Club and playing field hockey and lacrosse in high school. She spent most of her summers by a pool including lifeguarding at Ridgewood Country Club where the members adored her joyful personality and ability to connect with the kids.

Kerry was also a 2003 graduate of Providence College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. There she enjoyed developing friendships with so many amazing people, making memories filled with joy and laughter while carrying on the family tradition of being a Friar. Her father and sister both attended PC as well as cousins and uncles, so the PC pride ran deep and Kerry loved that connection.

After college Kerry had a variety of jobs starting as a grocery merchandiser for a food broker, Morris Alper. She then went on to work for Boeringher Ingelheim in Danbury.

Her most treasured title, “Mom”, came in 2008 after giving birth to her beloved son, Daniel Robert. Kerry adored Daniel as they were two peas in a pod. Kerry was a beautiful, warm hearted and loving mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece and friend. Throughout her life the ability to connect with others was her gift as she loved being around people and getting to really know them. She could light up a room with her infectious laughter and a smile as bright as the sun. Kerry always looked forward to gatherings with her large, extended family for holidays, celebrations or vacations. The Outer Banks and Disney World were her favorite places to visit.

Kerry is survived by her beloved son, Daniel Robert Fonck of Newtown, CT; her sister, Lee Murray Moore, and her husband Doug, of Westford, MA as well as her three nieces and nephews, Abby, Matthew and Lindsey Moore; along with 16 aunts and uncles and 36 cousins.
