Obituary of Elizabeth M. Wilson

Elizabeth M. (Danahy) Wilson, 93, of Columbia, formally of Manchester, died peacefully Friday, April 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Kenneth C. Wilson.  

Born in Manchester on March 21, 1928, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Hassett) Danahy. She was employed at Hartford Hospital for many years before retiring. Family was the most important part of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, big sister and the most selfless, generous person you would ever know. She enjoyed listening to music videos, eating sweets, but most of all her greatest joy was chatting with family and friends on the phone daily.  

Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters; Mary Hentley and her husband Lloyd, Marcia Kelly and her husband Bob, and Janet Dunnack and her husband Rich, with whom she made her home. She was the loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren Marisa, Mark, Matthew, Alyson, Benjamin, Kaitlyn and Jesse; her ten great-grandchildren Ashley, Gabriel, Lily, Lucy, Jack, Tessa, Harper, Brooklyn and two more boys due in the summer of 2021. She leaves her brothers Neil and Martin Danahy, her sister in-law Ellen Wilson and several nieces and nephews.  

The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to her caregiver, RuthAnn, for all the loving, dedicated and compassionate care she gave while Elizabeth was at home.
