Obituary of Cheryl Ann Zinker

Cheryl Ann Zinker, 65, of Manchester died April 14,2021 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Cheryl was born April 10,1956 in Manchester to June Zinker and the late Walter Zinker. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1974. She earned an A. A. degree from Manchester Community College, a B.A. in Economics from the University of Hartford, and a M.A. in Economics from The Ohio State University. She was a member of the American Economic Association.

Cheryl worked several jobs in customer service including Sage-Allen, CBT, JoAnn Fabrics, Walmart, Christmas Tree Shops, Teletech, and Brooks Brothers. She was also a brokerage, operations, registration and licensing specialist at USI Securities. She was also a lecturer at Quinnipiac University, University of Hartford, Tunxis Community College, MCC, University of New Haven-West Haven, and Westfield State College. She loved making wreaths and owned a floral design business.

Cheryl was also a tutor for Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford. She enjoyed helping adult learners achieve their personal and professional goals.

Cheryl was bright, smart, funny and caring. She cherished her family and friends.

Cheryl is survived by her mother, June Zinker of Manchester; three brothers, Scott Zinker and his wife Deb of Erie, CO, Mark Zinker and his wife Jen of West Haven, and Todd Zinker and his girlfriend Shirley Caro of West Hartford, and a sister, Kim Zinker of Manchester.

There will be a graveside service at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield on April 23, 2021 at 1:00p.m. The John F. Tierney Funeral Home will stream the service live on Facebook.
