Obituary of Alfred V Boaro

Alfred Vincent Boaro of Hampstead, NC, passed away on April 1, 2021 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

He was born March 16, 1934 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Amerigo Boaro and Josephine Peracchio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie L. Boaro.

He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Heidelberg, Germany. He was decorated for his service by receiving the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. Honorably discharged from the service on March 31, 1962 after an eight-year enlistment.

Mr. Boaro was a graduate of Bryant High School in Queens, NY in 1952. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1960 with a B.S.  Degree and from the Pennsylvania State University with a M.S. Degree in Animal Nutrition and Biochemistry. His professional career was primarily devoted to research, product development, manufacturing, and marketing of companion pet products for over 40 years.

In his youth, he had a passion for baseball, played golf and enjoyed boating and fishing. His hobbies were with Lionel trains and photography. In retirement, health club activities and traveling were his primary interests. He was a member of the Senior Men’s Club of Wilmington, Veterans of WWII and the Train Collectors Association.

Graveside services will be held Monday April 26th at 10 a.m. at the Bolton Center Cemetery Bolton, CT
