Obituary of Frederick A Campbell

Frederick A. Campbell, Jr., son of Frederick and Hilda Campbell of Medford, Mass., passed away after a brief illness on March 30, 2021 at St. Lucie Medical Center in Florida. Fred is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of over 53 years, Katherine Campbell, of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Fred is also survived by his daughters and grandson, all of whom he adored: Julie Tjagvad and her husband, Christian Tjagvad of Vernon, his youngest daughter, Alicyn Campbell, currently in Northern California, and his grandson, Christian Tjagvad also of Vernon.

Fred also leaves behind his sister Debra Doherty, and her husband James Doherty, and his sister, Nancy Joyce and her husband Eamonn Joyce, all of Massachusetts.  In addition, Fred is survived by his nephew, Eamonn Joyce, his niece, Carrie Langrehr, and her sons Quennel and Jayden Williams, and by many cousins.

Fred will be greatly missed by all. He was a quiet, introspective, gentle and loving soul.  He was a dedicated and doting husband and father, very proud of his daughters and their accomplishments, encouraging them from a young age to fulfill their intellectual capabilities and apply them in their work to both the benefit and the service of others.

Fred worked for over twenty-five years at Hartford Hospital. And, in his retirement, he worked as a reading tutor for Manchester Schools.

A private ceremony will be held for the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred’s memory to St. Andrew Lutheran Church at 295 NW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983.
