Obituary of Marc W. Cassano

Marc Whitney Cassano, 48, of Nantucket ,MA  passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 14, 2021.  Marc was born and raised in Manchester, CT. graduating from Manchester High School in 1990. In 1998 he moved to Nantucket Island where his father's family came from.

Marc loved living on Nantucket,and took great pleasure in the natural beauty of the island. He was an avid fisherman, often driving up the beach to Great Point, He especially enjoyed participating in the Angler’s Club Columbus Day fishing tournaments with his friends and family.  He also looked forward to hunting season and the challenge of deer hunting with a bow and arrow.

Marc was a compassionate, caring person, and was a friend to all.

He was devoted to his family, especially to his beloved son and daughter, Skyler Cassano, 21 and Marina Cassano, 13.   They were the light of his life. 

He leaves behind his mother Susan L. Campbell and husband Paul, his father Senator Steve Cassano and wife Holly, and his sister Michelle Cassano.  In addition he leaves behind his step- sisters Melanie Willhide and Valerie Scott and her husband Nathan and son Hunter. Also his step- brother Zack Willhide and his children Reina and Cole. Marc will be missed by several uncles, aunts and cousins from around the country.   

Marc's burial will take place in Lee, MA near the summer cottage where his mother's family grew up.  Service will be private and there are no calling hours due to Covid 19.  Family and friends may leave condolences on the Tierney Funeral Home website (tierneyfuneralhome.com).   In lieu of flowers, donations  may be made to Marc’s favorite charity, Locks of Love, which he contributed his own hair to for the past 30 years of his life. Marc will be missed greatly, may he rest in peace.
